Feeling better in cold Canada

I do not want to say it too loud but it seems like the fever is gone for good ( more than 24hrs without it ).... these last 5 days here in Toronto were a pain in my ...back ;-).

5 days of no training, 5 days of not-very-productive work, 5 days of bit*hing with whomever talked with me over the phone/chat.... ( yes people get sick with terrible viruses and side effects way worse than mine ... I shouldn't have complained that much about it ), 5 days of thinking how boring is life without Kimmy, 5 days of considering my loss of fitness for the next races like the biggest disaster on earth, 5 days of watching crappy Canadian tv ( hockey, commercials, food and idiotic fat losing programs, royal wedding..... repeat* ), 5 days of moving my heavy butt from the bed to the car to the office to the car to the grocery shop ( where I managed to do some walking intervals between the aisles :-P ).....

I could go ahead for other 5days....... for example... 5 days of reading medical web pages about stomach flu and intestinal viruses...

I learned quite a bit about it but what hit me the most was reading the first line of most of those articles in the section "how do I get a stomach bug":

1) Follow the 2-40-140 rule. Don’t eat meats, dressings, salads, or other foods that have been kept more than 2 hours between 40 and 140 degrees.
Be especially careful with deli meats like turkey or ham.

Guess what I had on the plane on Wednesday evening ( the night before getting sick )... a well seasoned Panera "italian" sandwich with a humongous amount of deli meat of doubtful quality that waited in my backpack about 6 hours before making into my mouth....DOH!

Well..... enough. I am better now, second day without fever is starting well and I might be able to hit the gym tonight and get back to a normal tri-life soon.

Let me just tell you that It sucked big time to be out here with the flu!

Time to go to work now,

Big hug from gassy V.
